Last October 5, 2017, the Nature’s Spring Foundation, Inc. (formerly Lay Kim and Corazon Foundation) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the College of Technological Sciences (CTS) – Cebu to offer scholarship programs for underprivileged youth in Cebu and Mandaue cities starting in November 2017. The MOA signing was signed by NSFI’s Chair, Mr. Danilo Y. Lua and University of Cebu and CTS Chair, Atty. Augusto W. Go. The scholarship is in line with the Foundation’s thrust of supporting education programs that will increase employability, life skills and entrepreneurship that support the needs of today’s employers but also giving back to deserving members of our community. According to NSFI’s president, Ms. Angelli Suzanne Lua-Domingo – “education is one of the foundation’s main thrusts towards achieving its vision of a Philippines with empowered people committed to safe, sustainable, and healthy communities.”

In this partnership with CTS, NSFI will initially support 30 scholars to be enrolled in automotive and refrigeration/air-conditioning courses. Aside from education, the Foundation will also soon launch additional education programs (such as teacher trainings, school renovations) and in other areas in health and the environment, particularly in helping to restore and protect Cebu’s watersheds, such as the Central Cebu Protected Landscape (CCPL) which is a national protected area.
