NSFI and Sacred Heart Charitable Foundation Inc. (SHCFI) convened for a comprehensive Post-Relief Assessment on February 3, 2026, at the Cafe Cristina in Sacred Heart Center, marking the conclusion of the short-term relief partnership for the Typhoon Tino Relief operations in Compostela, Cebu.

The assessment brought together both organizations to discuss the challenges, good practices, key learnings, and insights during the actual relief operations spearheaded by SHCFI in November 2025 in the Barangays Tamiao and Canamucan, municipality of Compostela in Cebu. These findings will directly inform updates to the Disaster Emergency Water Supply (DEWS) program guidelines, enhancing NSFI’s coordination framework with partner relief organizations in future operations.

The meeting also aimed to improve the technical support capabilities of NSFI for the relief operations of partner organizations. “This kind of reflective exercise is essential,” emphasized Mr. Ronald Po, board member of Sacred Heart Foundation Inc. “It strengthens our technical capacity and prepares us to better serve as secondary support to local government units during disasters,” added Po.

The assessment also ensured that on-ground experiences aligned with national DRRM frameworks and international humanitarian standards. Both organizations explored pathways to deepen their partnership, with NSFI recognizing SHCFI as one of its partner organizations in Cebu’s relief ecosystem.

The DEWS is a subprogram of NSFI under its Disaster Resilience thrust, which ensures the dignified provision of aid and relief through a framework that supports institutions and organizations working with government agencies and LGUs as secondary support during large-scale disasters.
