On February 19, 2026, Nature’s Spring Foundation, Inc. (NSFI), led by Executive Director Proleta N. Gomez, sat down with Mr. Donald James D. Gawe, CESO III, Executive Director of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), and Mr. Mariolito M. Bonggot, Chief Economic Development Specialist of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev Central Visayas Region)l to deepen collaboration ahead of the International Year of Volunteers (IYV) 2026.

The discussion centered on concrete ways to strengthen volunteerism and amplify community impact, covering volunteer recognition and certification through PNVSCA for local and international volunteers, joint IYV 2026 events and campaigns across the Visayas region, technical assistance to enhance volunteer management systems, volunteer data sharing for improved coordination and impact measurement, and capacity strengthening activities to empower stakeholders and communities.

Together, the three organizations reaffirmed their joint commitment to mainstreaming volunteerism across NSFI’s core program areas โ€” Education, Health, Environment, and Disaster Risk Reduction โ€” with the goal of reinforcing institutional partnerships, enhancing volunteer systems and recognition, and building sustainable, resilient communities.

As IYV 2026 unfolds, NSFI, PNVSCA, and DEPDev are united in championing volunteerism as a powerful force for empowerment and lasting social impact.
