Clean Water, Stronger Partnerships: NSFI and Coast Guard Auxiliary Align Disaster Relief Goals

In a joint effort to strengthen Disaster Response and Relief, the Nature’s Spring Foundation Inc. (NSFI) and Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) conducted a Partnership Review under the Disaster Emergency Water Supply (DEWS) Program, one of NSFI’s key Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives. The DEWS Program aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to disaster-affected communities—recognizing it as a critical resource for survival, health, and dignity.

The review focused on aligning partnership goals, evaluating the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and strengthening mechanisms to ensure the sustainability and impact of the collaboration. Key participants in the review included PCGA National Director Lilibeth Faelnar, PCGA Central Visayas District Auxiliary Director Mr. Bethlehem Holaysan Jr., and PCG Central Visayas Community Relations Officer Mr. Laurito Rabaya.

NSFI Executive Director Proleta Gomez highlighted the importance of mutual accountability, emphasizing the need for clear monitoring and evaluation systems to measure and enhance the joint impact of both organizations on the communities they serve. Through the DEWS Program, NSFI ensures a transparent, efficient, and accountable delivery of water aid, equipped with reporting and feedback mechanisms to guarantee timely access to clean water for drinking and domestic use during emergencies.

The review reaffirmed both organizations’ commitment to advancing disaster resilience and protecting vulnerable communities through strategic partnerships.
