Community Adoption for Disaster Preparedness, Prevention, and Mitigation (CAD2PM)

Through its Community Adoption initiative, NSFI supports non-government organization partners whose beneficiaries come from vulnerable communities in managing and reducing disaster risks. In partnership with local NGOs and social welfare agencies, especially in high-risk areas like Cebu, the Foundation helps implement community-led programs focused on disaster prevention, preparedness, and resilience-building.

Support is given to preparedness, prevention, mitigation projects of these NGOs. Currently, NSFI supports Sto NIno Augustinian Development Foundation Inc. (SNAF) through the project, “Bamboo Afforestation as a Disaster Preparedness Approach”, and the project on Empowering Coastal Communities on Climate Change Adaptation towards Resilient Environment or CCARE (Phase I) of the Participatory Research, Organization of Communities and Education towards Struggle for Self-reliance (PROCESS) – Bohol, Inc.

Disaster Emergency Water Supply (DEWS)

For the past seven years, NSFI has provided safe drinking water to communities affected by disasters. As part of its commitment to uphold dignity and basic human rights, NSFI is strengthening its efforts through a formal humanitarian framework to ensure accountable, ethical, and effective disaster response.

Since 2023, NSFI has partnered with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary to expand its disaster relief efforts. In 2024 alone, the partnership delivered 28,000 liters of purified drinking water to typhoon, flood, and earthquake-affected communities in Batangas, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes. Through DEWS, NSFI continues to provide life-saving humanitarian support where it’s needed most.

Calamity Assistance to PSWRI and Affiliate Employees

Part of its commitment to employee welfare and disaster resilience, Nature’s Spring Foundation Inc. (NSFI) implements the Calamity Assistance Program to support employees of Philippine Spring Water Resources Inc. (PSWRI), and its affiliate companies. This initiative provides critical aid for employees affected by natural and human-made disasters, including typhoons, floods, landslides, earthquakes, and fire incidents. The program focuses on disaster recovery and rehabilitation, ensuring that employees receive immediate relief and long-term support to help them rebuild their lives.

In 2024, NSFI extended Calamity Assistance to six PSWRI Cebu Plant employees who were displaced by fire incidents in Cebu City and Mandaue City. The support provided financial aid and essential resources to help these employees recover from the disaster and regain stability.

By prioritizing rapid response and long-term rehabilitation, NSFI continues to play a vital role in helping employees navigate the aftermath of disasters, ensuring their well-being and resilience in times of crisis.
