NSFI Strengthens Collaboration with LGU Partners In Cebu, Bulacan, Laguna, Misamis Oriental, and Davao for WATER Reforestation Project
In its ongoing commitment to sustainable environmental stewardship, Nature’s Spring Foundation, Inc. (NSFI) recently concluded a series of partnership consultations and needs assessments with key local government units (LGUs) which have jurisdiction over the Foundation’s adopted forest sites under its flagship Watershed Area Transformation for Environmental Resilience (WATER) Reforestation Project.
The consultations engaged five LGU partners: Alegria in Cebu, Doña Remedios Trinidad in Bulacan, Siniloan in Laguna, Opol in Misamis Oriental, and Davao City. Each session provided an opportunity to share project milestones, dialogue, and learning exchanges with the respective Municipal and City Environment and Natural Resources Offices (MENROs/CENROs).
The consultations aimed to align NSFI’s reforestation efforts with local environmental programs and policies, strengthen partnerships around forest protection and conservation, and identify support needs and gaps that call for joint action. By working closely with the local environmental offices, NSFI seeks to design programs that reflect the realities of each community and respond to their specific needs and priorities.
“The consultations allow us to listen and learn from our partners. Understanding their challenges and priorities will help us co-create more responsive and impactful environmental solutions,” said the NSFI Environment Team.
The partnership reviews were conducted on the following dates and locations:
May 21 & July 21, 2025 – Alegria, Cebu
June 2, 2025 – Davao City
June 9, 2025 – Opol, Misamis Oriental
July 7, 2025 – Siniloan, Laguna
July 11, 2025 – Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan
The series of meetings are part of NSFI’s ongoing efforts toward collaborative, consultative, and needs-based programming, helping sustainability strategies stay effective and reflect strong local ownership and participation. The insights gathered from these engagements will guide the development of a joint partnership support plan, contributing to future programming directions for NSFI’s environmental initiatives under the WATER Reforestation Project.
