Water, Hope, and Resilience: NSFI’s Disaster Risk Reduction in Action

Disasters don’t wait—and neither does NSFI

NSFI’s Disaster Risk Reduction Program responds to emergencies and strengthens community resilience through three key initiatives. The Disaster Emergency Water Supply (DEWS) Project ensures bottled water is prepositioned and ready for rapid deployment. In 2024, NSFI and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary delivered over 28,000 liters of drinking water to families affected by typhoons and storms. The Community Adoption for Disaster Preparedness initiative supports local NGOs and SWDAs in high-risk areas like Cebu and Bohol, funding projects that build long-term resilience through afforestation, climate adaptation, and community training. And through the Calamity Assistance Program, NSFI provides immediate aid and recovery support to PSWRI employees affected by disasters—ensuring their safety and stability in times of crisis.

Every response strengthens a community’s ability to recover. Improving the lives of every Filipino.
